Our 5 Point Agenda
As MCA, my role in the County Assembly is to legislate, oversight county government departments, and represent Marmanet Ward in the allocation of county resources. The following five pillars will guide every bill I support, every motion I raise, and every ward-level engagement I undertake.
- Push for county investment in cereal and dairy value-addition facilities (maize milling, potato storage, milk cooling plants) sited within Marmanet.
- Lobby for affordable, timely access to certified seed, fertiliser, and extension services through the County Agriculture department.
- Support formation and strengthening of farmer cooperatives (following the model of the Marmanet Farmers Cooperative Society) to improve bargaining power and access to markets.
- Advocate for construction and rehabilitation of produce collection centres and market sheds in key trading centres.
- Champion water-harvesting and small-scale irrigation projects to reduce dependence on rain-fed farming.
- Promote farmer training on climate-smart agriculture, potato (Shangi) husbandry, and crop diversification.
- Push for renovation and equipping of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centres across the ward, with trained and fairly remunerated ECDE teachers.
- Advocate for bursary and scholarship allocation that is transparent, needs-based, and reaches genuinely vulnerable households.
- Lobby for construction of additional classrooms, libraries, and sanitation facilities in public primary and secondary schools.
- Support school feeding and mentorship programmes in partnership with the County and development partners.
- Facilitate linkages between local students and TVET/vocational training opportunities aligned to Marmanet’s economy (agriculture, trade, technical skills).
- Prioritise grading, graveling, and drainage of feeder roads that link farms to markets, especially those impassable during the rains.
- Champion equitable distribution of the Ward Development Fund and other county capital projects across all sub-locations — not concentrated in one area.
- Advocate for expansion of piped water and borehole projects to underserved villages.
- Push for rural electrification and solar street lighting at trading centres for security and evening trade.
- Lobby for youth-targeted allocations from the County Enterprise Fund with simplified, transparent access for groups and individuals.
- Champion rehabilitation of sports grounds and organised ward tournaments to nurture talent and unity.
- Push for digital skills and entrepreneurship training hubs in partnership with the County ICT department and development partners.
- Support youth involvement in agribusiness and value-addition enterprises rather than only casual labour.
- Advocate for youth representation in ward-level project committees and decision-making.
- Publish regular (at minimum quarterly) public reports on Ward Development Fund and Bursary Fund allocations and expenditure.
- Hold open ward barazas after every County Assembly session to report back to residents.
- Actively exercise the MCA’s oversight role over county departments implementing projects in Marmanet.
- Establish a ward-level grievance and feedback desk so residents can raise concerns directly.
- Work with civil society and community elders to ensure fair, corruption-free implementation of all ward projects.

It is with great humility that I present myself to you as your candidate for Member of County Assembly for Marmanet Ward in the 2027 General Election, under the Democratic Congress Party (DCP) – Skiza Wakenya.
I was born, raised, and continue to live among you. I have walked the same feeder roads that flood in the rainy season, queued at the same dispensaries, and watched too many of our young people leave Marmanet in search of opportunities that should exist right here at home. This manifesto is not a list of promises made from a distance — it is a working plan built on what I have heard directly from farmers in their shambas, mothers at the market, boda boda riders at the stage, teachers in our schools, and elders at the baraza.
Marmanet has enormous potential. We sit on fertile agricultural land, our people are hardworking, and our youth are talented. What we have lacked is representation that listens, legislates with purpose, and follows through with accountability. That is the leadership I offer.
This manifesto sets out my five-point legislative agenda — Agriculture, Education, Infrastructure, Youth, and Accountability — together with the specific commitments I will pursue as your MCA. I ask for your vote, your trust, and your partnership so that together, tujitegemee na mahindi.
